This is the fourth in a series here at Work at Home Moms Talk Radio. We’ve asked WAHMs to tell us about one regret, one proud moment, one new friend, one favorite resource and one resolution for the new year. This post is from Angela Wills of Marketers Mojo.
Hi WAHMTalkRadio readers! When Kelly asked me to take some time during these last few weeks of 2010 to look back on the year and write a blog post for you guys I was excited. It’s always helpful to take some time at the end of each year to look back at what has been achieved and I was grateful to get the opportunity to share my year in review with you.
So here it goes…
One Regret for 2010
I try to live with no regrets but of course there are always things I have learned from. I would say my one regret for this year would be not to have taken time for family sooner. You see this year was the year of family for me. I went to visit relatives across the country I hadn’t seen in ten years and I went to visit my boyfriend’s family also across the country for the first time (we’ve been together for five years).
The beauty about having my own business is that I have had the freedom to do this for many years but just didn’t take the opportunity. Now that I realize that error in judgment I plan to correct it in the years to come!
One Proud Moment in 2010
I can’t tell you how proud I was to be a part of the WAHM community back in the summer. It was a sad time for one work at home mom who many of us know. She lost her son. Kelly stepped up to offer help and then many moms stepped up to get involved. It made me very proud to be part of a community that supports each other on matter the situation.
One New Friend in 2010
I made a great new friend this year. Her name is Julia Hidy of EnergyForYourLife.com. We first met in person at Wordcamp TO where she had told me she’d been on my list for some time. She also told me that as a result of my email list she got a very nice paid speaking gig in the United States that she would not have otherwise had the opportunity.
Julia became my client but I also consider her a new friend. I’m very glad to have met her a number of times now!
One Favorite Resource in 2010
My favorite resource of all time is WordPress. I just can’t stress enough how much it helps me build my online business. It’s not just that it’s a free software program. It’s that it’s a blogging platform, a way to make a website, a membership site, a salespage and just about anything I do online.
I spent years trying out different software programs and services that help you build websites. That was years I could have been spending building my business. Now that I have WordPress and that’s out of the way I can focus on making more money. That’s why WordPress is and always will be my favorite resource. ;)
One Resolution for 2011
As the new year gets closer I see some big changes possible in my business and my life. My only resolution is that I will be open to all the opportunities that come to me even if they surprise the heck out of me!
That’s it for my year in review, hope you found it a little interesting! Also, all the best to you for this holiday season and in the new year. I wish you to find all you are looking for in your business and your life.
