Free WordPress Plugin Helps You Plan Your Marketing Funnel

I have been using a visual graphic of a funnel to help explain how I plan my business strategy for many years.

I’ve created neat printable forms for my clients so that they could plan out their funnels and it’s always been helpful for them.

The problem is that it’s difficult their share their funnel with me – unless they wanted to scan it in, safe it as a PDF and email it to me – which isn’t always easy to do.

One day this fall I was messing around with a WordPress theme, it had these customizable areas so that I could place content anywhere I wanted on the page. It occurred to me that I might be able to create a WordPress theme around my funnel graphic – IF I knew how to create a theme from scratch that is – which I don’t.

So naturally, I called on Lynette :)

We chatted about my idea and she said she could create a WordPress plugin to accomplish what I was describing – which blows my mind – she’s so tech-tastic!

We set about brainstorming, I got to work on a visual layout and turned the graphic files over to her. Not long after she sent me the finished plugin for a test drive.

I have to say – it is awesome! It’s easy to use and does exactly what I’d hoped. It creates a great visual published on a WordPress page. Since it’s easy to share with others, it can be used as an accountability tool – which is my plan.

What is the Funnel all about?

Well, it’s part Marketing Funnel and part Product Funnel

Thinking about what you do, all of the little bits and pieces, individual projects and products, as being part of a funnel helps you to plan out the process of reaching your target market, winning their trust and inspiring them to spend money with you.

Why is it a Funnel?

The funnel shape is important. A funnel is wide at the top and small at the bottom.

The top of our funnel is our content marketing. It’s filled with everything we’re doing to get our message out to our target market – so it’s wide.

The bottom of our funnel holds our priciest products and services. Of all the many people we come into contact with in our business, only a few will spend a significant amount of money with us – so it’s small.

We don’t expect people to to spend big dollars at first contact and that is why there are several ‘levels’ in the funnel between the top and bottom. A carefully crafted funnel woo’s our target market, builds relationship and trust and creates lifetime customers and clients.
