While the New York Times article on Mommy Bloggers did not sit well, but rather ticked a lot of them off, I still stand behind my belief that if read in a different way this is a very positive article and stand behind the positives I pulled from it in the post I wrote in News from Around WAHM Country.
Shelly Hill of the very popular and very active Classy Chicks in Business Forums has been hospitalized for the last few weeks now trying to heal from her aliments. The community while rallying around her with prayers and well wishes are still as active as ever, with daily questions of the day, the chatter by the water cooler and all the business information posts. I am happy to report that the community’s moderators are top notch!
Speaking of Shelly, the resource site she and Sophia runs together, Work at Home Business Options made it in the 100 Best Blogs for Women in Business on AccountingDegree.com. This was exciting to see and which led to my in-depth site recommendation.
Via twitter I just recently learned some really exciting news that Val Selby is the proud new owner of Schmoozins! I was super surprised to hear that it was changing hands but know Val will take it to the next level; she is a great business gal! It couldn’t have fell into better hands.
While there was more buzzing around WAHM Country these are some of main highlights from this week. Do you have any exciting news to share?

I was surprised to hear that some WAHMs took the New York Times article as a negative. My husband sent it to me from work because he thought it was great that what I've been over the past year is finally being recognized as a legitimate way to earn money from home.
I'm primarily a VA, but I thought that this was a good eye-opener for many moms who want to stay at home with their kids, but can't think of any legitimate ways to make money. There are always alternatives to the 9-5 life if we look hard enough.
I have not read that New York Times article myself, but I do know that many people got quite upset by it, so it's interesting to me to hear that you found it positive.
