I’m guilty of this myself, I check my Amazon Associates Central reports and see that I earned four pennies on a small purchase and wrinkle my nose. “Oh big deal!”
But hey, this is a bad attitude! Yes, Amazon commissions on many everyday products are quite small. They do add up though, especially this time of year.
Remember that your commission rate changes as your number of referred sales increase. So a lot of those tiny commissions end up boosting your overall commission profits in the end.
This month I’m seeing quite a few teensy Kindle book commissions and all together I’m surprised if I hit $2 on that, but they’ve helped me nudge up into a higher commission rate overall and that means a 2 or 2.5% increase on the other sales that aren’t so small.
