Top 7 Tips For an Energetic Business

Continuing on with the DRIVE acronym, guest blogger Angela Wills is going to finish it off by talking about the last letter – E – and energy today. Be sure to read about the other traits of DRIVE -  determination, resilience, initiative and values before going any further!

Moms – there is no doubt we do a lot. Taking care of the kids, cooking, cleaning, laundry, taking care of ourselves, loving hubby and the list goes on. Where in the world do we find the energy to run a business too?!

You’ve got to admire the work at home mom who’s got it going on. How does she do it? ENERGY

Today’s DRIVE trait is ENERGY.

DRIVE stands for:
Determination (Monday’s post)
Resilience (Tuesday)
Initiative (Wednesday)
Values (Thursday)
Energy (Today!)

Instead of telling you what energy is and why you need it (I think you know all that – you’re a mom!) I’m going to go straight into my favorite tips for keeping your energy at it’s max while getting as much done s you can in the limited time every human is given per day ;)

Top 7 Tips For an Energetic Business!

7. Do What You LOVE – The easiest way to drain your energy and motivation is do stuff you don’t like. Do what you love and it doesn’t even feel like work.

6. Plan – I know sometimes we like to do so but planning activities on the fly can be a major time and energy drain.

5.Get Organized – An unorganized business takes you far more energy to manage than an organized one.

4. Hire Help – Getting it all done doesn’t have to mean doing it all yourself.

3. Exercise – Your body needs to be pumping blood through those veins to keep you moving along. Exercise is key here.

2. Sleep – Yep, you’ve heard it before. If you need eight hours take them all!

1.Drink Water
– Dehydration is a serious energy-drainer. Get your 8 glasses of water a day.

Today’s post was short and sweet on purpose. The one thing I don’t want you to do is read through this DRIVE series and then do nothing! So please, take action. Do one thing now. Even a well thought out five minute activity can pay off for years to come. Use the energy you’ve got right now to transfer to your business – write a blog post, create a great bio, submit a guest blog post, write a great email signature, etc!

I’d love to hear your feedback on this post or the DRIVE series I’ve posted here over the last five days. Please post your comments below.

    Angela,

I learned the hard way the importance of managing my energy. My Smart Blogging Skills training put me to the test…LOL! It was just what I needed to get on purpose about taking better care of my health for a better business. I bought vitamins and drank more water which helped me to keep my energy up.

  2. Angela Wills says:

Thanks for the comment Keisha! Yes I know when I was too ‘busy’ to take proper care of myself my productivity and my profits went way, way down. Great to hear you found healthy ways to keep up your energy :)

Your tips here are great. I have been doing these things and they really help.
