Until You Have Something To Sell…

It’s difficult for online solopreneurs to make it all the way to financial independence without dipping into the information marketing pool with at least one toe.

I provide services, work hard, charge well for my time and can make a fine living from it – but what happens when I take a vacation pause?  The income stops when I do.

I make a nice income as an affiliate, promoting products and services that others offer.  Sometimes steady, sometimes not so steady.

What has remained steady for me is the income I generate from offering my own information products and membership sites.

I truly believe that all online solopreneurs should be thinking about how they can develop their own information products.

They can consider:

  • Writing a short special report.
  • Writing a full ebook.
  • Creating a six week course.
  • Offering a webinar/teleseminar.
  • Recording an audio product.
  • Recording a video product.
  • Offering a virtual weekend bootcamp.

That’s just a few simple ideas.  Information products can be made in any combination of the above.

Imagine that you were to come up with a good idea for a new info product and decided to go for it this summer?  What if you could take your idea all the way to sale in about six weeks?  Would you go for it?

Right now some of you are thinking ‘Well, yes, I’d like to – but I don’t know how to get started – let alone sell something.

I’ve been there.  Felt that intimidated and overwhelmed. The process seem so complex from a distance.  Don’t worry though, it can be learned ‘on the job’ with a little guidance.  That’s how I learned it in the beginning.

A few years ago I created a six week course called the 42 Day Launch Incubator.  It’s a careful plan that takes you through one of the simplest ways to create an information product.  I teach you a process that involves writing articles, writing a small report and creating an opt in page.  We set up a sales process, recruit affiliates and hold a paid live virtual seminar – and after it’s over – turning it all into a product to sell over the long term.

It’s a busy six weeks – it calls for hard work or good outsourcing for those who prefer not to write themselves – but it is so well worth it when you have your first complete information product ready to sell and the skills to repeat the process over and over.
