How many habits do you set out to establish that end up fizzling? It’s the human condition for certain but we solopreneurs are particularly susceptible to setting goals and then getting distracted from seeing them through.
Ok, well instead of saddling the entire solopreneur community with it, I’ll just admit that I have this problem.
I create new things with the best of intentions of making it a weekly or monthly routine. Then a have a crazy week and decide that skipping it once won’t hurt – but once turns into twice and before I know it it’s been awhile.
Man I hate being flaky! Flaky people make me nuts and I don’t want to make other people nuts.
Yeah, well, if you read Solo Smart regularly you know that I haven’t published a Win. Fail. Give. since November 11th. I have an excuse. I moved. Thanksgiving. Family stuff. Busy. Busy. Busy.
Whatever – excuses suck – so I’ll just say I’m sorry and get the ball rolling again. Cuz I love Win. Fail. Give. And I miss it!
Here goes…
This Week’s Win: When I look back on this week, what I’m really proud of is my coaching time. I have had a heavy coaching load over the last few weeks and I love it. My clients are inspiring. They have so many great ideas and so much passion for what they want to create. It’s an honor to work with them.
This Week’s Fail: I realized this week that I haven’t picked back up on my Free Coaching Thursdays. I took a break from it while running the Urgent Cash Flow group in October, but I meant to start it back up and failed to put it back on my calendar.
The good news is that many of those who have been taking advantage of Free Coaching Thursday in the past have made the leap over to join Solo Masterminds or to sign up to coach one on one with me.
That doesn’t excuse me from it though – there’s a whole new group of people who’ve joined my list in the last month or so and they deserve their chance to get some free advice and feedback – so I’m putting it on my calendar for this next Thursday.
This Week’s Give: A quick recap: My St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser has been over since November 25th. My hair is slowly growing back – and I’m pleased to have raised just over $1000. (Far short of my $5000 goal – but I’m not complaining.)
The experience was wonderful. I had so much fun dyeing my hair different colors and enjoyed having the chance to talk about St. Baldrick’s and the important work they do. (And yes, if you want to, you can still make donations to St. B’s through my link.)
On the topic of giving, I’m looking for a good idea for a big Christmas/Holiday ‘give’ for my community. Do you have any ideas for me?
